Practice & Perspective
Alejandra Cuadra is an interdisciplinary artist living in Medford, MA. She holds a BFA in Sculpture and a Minor in Public Engagement from the Maine College of Art. After ten years of apprenticing at Kemp Pottery, Alejandra continues her creative path as an independent artist. She completed the technical education program at Mudflat Studios and currently teaches at Munroe Center for the Arts and Follow Your Art Community Studios. As she delves deeper into her work with clay, it becomes an all-encompassing way of life, a practice in the dance of control and letting go of control. The creation process is continuous, with each rotation of the wheel imparting a new lesson or wonder. She draws her motifs from her observations and contemplations of nature, as well as the impressions she gathers from the natural world around her.
