The past few weeks have been less about announcing plans and more about turning them into a working studio.
The carpets have been ripped up. It is one of those changes that sounds small until you see the room without them. The space already feels different: less like the place we leased and more like the studio we have been imagining.
Next Up: The Work Behind the Walls
Our electrician is coming in next week. Pottery studios ask a lot of a building—from wheels and kilns to ventilation and lighting—so the electrical work is a foundational part of the buildout. It is not the most visible milestone, but it is one of the most important.
The Studio Team Is Coming Together
Our teaching team is taking shape, and our Studio Operations Lead is helping prepare the studio for opening. At the same time, we are setting the class schedule and working through how the studio will move from morning to night: classes, member access, firing, cleanup, and all the small handoffs that make a shared workspace run well.
These decisions are connected. The people shape the schedule, the schedule shapes the flow of the studio, and the physical space has to support both.
Our staff introductions are underway. We are sharing the artists and instructors who will help bring Firebox to life on Instagram and Facebook, and you can now meet them on our instructors page. While you are there, take a look at the classes beginning to take shape for our opening season.
